With the advent of VirtualConsole, and especially the announcement of SMS games coming to the Wii, I was looking to get myself a Wavebird for use on my Wii. Unfortunately, they have all disappeared from any local store. I was looking online and the best price I can find is $50 shipped.
So, the point is that I found something pretty neat: get a load of this. Yes, it is expensive. But, it lets you use your Genesis controllers on your Wii/GameCube. He also has ones for NES/SNES controllers, but there are better ones available for that purpose.
Anyway, if anyone sees a new Wavebird for $40 or less shipped, let me know!

I can't say that I have seen a cheap Wavebird around anywhere for sometime.
You might want to consider this pad:
Its a Gamecube pad but in the shape of a SNES pad. I think that it'd work well for the Wii VC. I have no idea about cost but I thought that I'd throw the idea out there. Its made by Hori as well, so try searching for it on eBay and see what you find.
