Amiga OS?

Post by RCBH928 »

Yes,
Believe it or not
While I was web surfing I found that there is an Amiga OS still in existence .
I mean its up to date, its OS 4.
It has a web browser and everything.

Why would any one build a computer OS in the very fierce competition between os x and windows, while Linux priced for free is having a hard time.

Is there any advantages?

I really felt like talking about this and listening to other more knowledgeable forum members to enlighten us about this issue

Yeah, they've been working on reviving the Amiga platform for ages now. It's a name associated with a lot of very die-hard loyalty, so to a business with a lot of hope and patience, maybe it makes sense somehow. I'd love to see the platform come back, but I have a feeling it wouldn't really be the same.

Well, I don't know why they go through so much trouble
its not enough reason to make a switch from Windows or Mac, or even linux

maybe its a hobby thing?
I understand that creating OS takes a lot of hard work,

I don't see a strong reason to switch from Windows, Mac, or Linux, but there are still people out there using OLD Amiga systems that can upgrade.

Personally, I am very excited about the upcoming Amiga OS5, and some of the newly-announced Amiga computers. You have to give them credit for putting up a good fight.
