Re: Controller or Remotes? Lets do this.
I call them remotes, only cause remote control and controller translate to the same word in Greek, with the added tele which means from a distance, so they are both called telecontroler.

Haha, in Spanish we just call both controllers and remotes "mandos" so =D
Anyways as Yoshiegg says, the only console that has a remote is the Wii, the rest are controllers.

Never used a CD-I before?YoshiEgg25 wrote:TVs and Wiis have remotes.
All consoles other than the Wii have controllers.
Remote: Hold with one hand.
Controller: Hold with two hands.

I don't blame you actually.

This. I call them control pads.
Except for the Wii. That has a remote.
Re: Controller or Remotes? Lets do this.
I guess everyone agrees that the Wiimote is a remote and the rest are controllers. CD-I doesn't count

if you look at the picture, it's actually a "cd-i controller" not a "cd-i remote."

Sure, but I didn't say all controllers are remotes, did I? Most controllers are, even if it seems weird to call them that... but the old PONG consoles, for example, had controls that were not remote.YoshiEgg25 wrote:A remote may be a controller, but that doesn't necessarily mean a controller is a remote.flamepanther wrote:A remote is a controller, considering it's short for "remote control"
It's like saying that all gumballs are candy, but that doesn't mean all candy are gumballs.
The point was that if you call them all controllers, you'd be in the clear.
