best 6 face button usb gamepad

Post by Jubal »

ok so I am looking for a USB gamepad, I want an great D pad, 6 face buttons, 2 shoulder buttons and a start button.

the absolutely ideal solution would be one of those official Saturn USB gamepads from a few years ago. one happens to be on ebay right now.
Saturn USB its at $76 with 7 hours left, I was willing to go up to $50 shipped for it, but its out of my price range now.

I want to find a good solution for emulation on the go with a linux subnotebook, portability being key. this throws out 3 in 1 converters and such.

I don't want a playstation controller clone, analog sticks don't interest me for this

I don't have the tools to solder so the convert your own kits are out, tho I would take a preconverted saturn controller if anybody knows a source for those

does anybody know any other options?

I use the 3-in-1 with Saturn pads for my "go" pc, they do not take up much room. I also use the 360 wired controller, but the cord on that takes up more room than the converter ans SS pad. All the PC gamepads I've messed with are ass.

Pray that Sega does another run, this time buy a LOT.

Check this store out! Lots of great old school accessories.

I did a search for "usb adapters" and here is what I got:

They don't have a saturn one....but...
You could use the Street Fighter PS1,PS2 or Xbox controller which you can find for not too much.

I had forgotten all about these, reading some reviews it looks like the PS2 versions might have better D pads, seems like they would be identical tho. anybody have any experience with one?

unfortunately not very good, there are the instructions step by step tho. I would probably pay $40 shipped for decent shape one of those if somebody premade them.

the Saturn USB one on ebay went for $101 shipped, just insane.

Now if we can find a good wireless one, we'd be all set.
I'd faint if they came out with those official Saturn USB controllers but with solid wireless.
