If I have Hyper Street Fighter II...

Post by JC48573 »

on Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, do I need to get Street Fighter Collection 1 for the psx. I heard that Hyper Street Fighter II is just a Super Street Fighter 2 update with the freedom to change modes from original Street Fighter II all the way to Super Street Fighter II Turbo. I just got me a copy of Street Fighter Collection II for a decent price today, so I was wondering if I should even bother with the first collection.

I couldn't find Street Fighter Collection 2 Complete anywhere under 30 dollars online, so I made a call to this one game store near my place and they happen to have a complete copy for an affordable price (it was under 20 dollars in very good condition).

You don't really need to bother with it. I had the Saturn version of the Collection, and it also came with Street Fighter Zero (Alpha) 2'. IF the PS1 has it also, it might be worth your while. Actually, it might be worth getting on the Saturn because the control pad is awesome. I generally haven't bothered with fighting games on the PS1 because the Saturn is just so much better for that.

Hmmm... guess I went off on a tangent there. Short answer: the Anniversary Collection has you covered. Just get other versions for collecting/nostalgia reasons.

On an unrelated note, I wonder who here has Street Fighter 2 on the most systems. I have Championship on Genesis, getting turbo on snes from the charity auction, turbo revival on gba, and the PS2 collection.

I've had it on SNES/SFC (original, Turbo, Super), Genesis/Mega Drive (SCE, Super), PC Engine ('CE), Game Boy, 3DO (Super Turbo), Saturn (Collection), PS2 (Capcom Collection), X-Box (Anniversary) and PS3 (HD Remix). That is insane.

Others have more than I've had. Also, NONE of the versions are really very expensive. They are all cheap.

I got Street Fighter Collection 2 instead because I heard it has the original Street Fighter II game. Hyper Street Fighter II only lets you play against Super Street Fighter II AI, so that's a good reason to get Collection 2 instead of Collection 1.

I guess that is the same as Capcom Generation 5 in Japan? I don't think that has Super SFII...

Do you mean Street Fighter Collection 2? Yea, Street Fighter Collection 2 doesn't have Super Street Fighter 2.
