Re: GoldenEye 007 Wii online
Im thinking about getting this game after the holidays. But I have a question - I have the regular classic controller is that good enough?
I don't want to spend on the bundle and a CC Pro unless I have too.

i can try to be there tonight as well.Ziggy587 wrote:Yeah, I can be on at 9PM EST tonight.
IMO the regular classic control is not good enough. the shoulder buttons are not good for this type of game. the pro version feels more home.SpaceBooger wrote:Im thinking about getting this game after the holidays. But I have a question - I have the regular classic controller is that good enough?

Because the Pro is out of my price range and will be for a while.

i see. well i never tried the 'chuck controls for this game yet but s1mple started using the 'chuck controls before he went pro so i would wait for his kind response.SpaceBooger wrote:Ok then how are the remote 'chuck controls.

but i believe the classic controls are editable on the option menu. so if your stuck with the regular classic controller for a while you can always remap the buttons to your likings ..

Re: GoldenEye 007 Wii online
Imho, the remote + chuck controls are greatly surpassed by the Classic Controller Pro. I made it to level 8 or 9 using the mote 'n chuck, and really never got a feel for it. I reluctantly continued practicing with it, thinking I just needed to "warm up" to this new play style, and also because nearly all the reviews I read online insisted that the mote+chuck had a clear advantage in competitive multiplayer. After converting to the CCP my K/D ratio, accuracy, and wins are now closer to my Goldeneye 64 stats...which is greatSpaceBooger wrote: Ok then how are the remote 'chuck controls.

One of my earlier posts for adopting the mote/chuck combo:
s1mplehumar wrote:I'm curious what you guys prefer for a primary controller. I've tried in vain to effectively use the Mote+Chuck combo, but end up getting destroyed more often than not unless I use the Classic Controller Pro. I know the mote+chuck configuration has definite advantages, and after trying close to a dozen different tweaked settings my patience is running thin. games in I default back to the Classic Controller Pro again.
Also, does anyone else feel like the switch from hip shots to ADS feels so freaking wonky?
My current Mote/Chuck settings (taken from a guy on a Ninty forum):
Go to the Wii's controller settings on the GoldenEye menu, and click Customize.
Go into cursor settings and do the following;
Set the deadzone to 15 above, 40 across.
Set the maximum turn to 100 (which is default)
Set the horizontal speed to 21
Set the verticle speed to 8
Set the cursor sensitivity to 20
Now go into the ADS options, and do the following;
Set the deadzone to 17 above, 17 across.
Set the maximum turn to 90 above, 90 across.
Set the horizontal speed to 15
Set the verticle speed to 10
Set the cursor sensitivity to MAXIMUM.
Now exit those options, and set the camera to; Wii Remote Turning, and turn 'Look' OFF.
Have the Auto re-centre and Turn while cursor off-screen settings ON.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Wii online
It seems as if most people who play Console FPS prefer the controller. I never really played console FPS only PC and wonder if that makes a difference with the choice of Classic Controller Pro...
I guess I could always try the Game Cube Controller, anyone try that yet?

The classic controller is not bad; just keep in mind that zl is melee and zr is grenade which can be a bit tough to reach in some circumstances. The gamecube is the least preferred since there are buttons that require sharing. The wiimote/nunchuck isnt bad if you are used to playing any of the call of duty games on Wii. Imo, this is how it goes:
Classic controller pro
Classic controller
Wiimote/nunchuck
Gamecube controller
Hope this helps

Re: GoldenEye 007 Wii online
Definitely pick up this game! We're having so much fun playing it together! In regards to the controller, I highly suggest picking up the CC Pro. My brother tried using the regular CC and had some trouble. The top buttons aren't positioned too well, the CC Pro is more like a Playstation controller. Also, the two thumb sticks are ever so slightly closer together on the original CC. My brother said his thumbs kept hitting each other.SpaceBooger wrote:Im thinking about getting this game after the holidays. The CC Pro is definitely a better controller, and I would imagine it being useful in future games. Also, if you get the bundle, you'll get a code with it. My code unlocked Classic Conflict which you normally wouldn't be able to play until you get to level 30 (which is a while).
I have played FPS on the PC, but I like the CC Pro for this game. The mote n chuck is very much like using a mouse, only you're waving your arm in the air the entire time. I don't enjoy having to hold my arm up/out when I'm playing for long periods of time. I've played a few FPS using the mote and chuck, and it can be pretty fun. But lately I'm finding myself opting for traditional controllers over the motion controls.SpaceBooger wrote:It seems as if most people who play Console FPS prefer the controller. You can use the GCN controller. My brother tried it and it was perfectly fine. The only thing, he couldn't find out how to melee with it. Swift said something about sharing buttons, I never checked the manual for the GCN controller (never used it myself). But the GCN controller is pretty much like using a CC Pro.
The original CC is definitely usable, you might even like it. If you're on a budget, I would suggest picking up the game and trying the controllers you have now (mote and chuck, GCN, oCC) and see how you like them. If you don't like any of them, THEN pick up a CC Pro. But getting the bundle will get you a code to unlock something, and it isn't any more expensive them buying them separately.
