For a while I really disliked Gen III. Then I played it again after Diamond and Pearl, and forgave it, embracing it with open arms. Apart from the surfing all through the second half, it was a very good game, and Emerald is nothing short of amazing.YoshiEgg25 wrote:noiseredux wrote:yeah GBA sucks. Gen III was my least favorite gen as well. I hated all the surfing and not being able to avoid battles. But I think we can all agree Gen II is the best.
Also play Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

From a hardware standpoint, the XBOX 360. These babies were born to fail. OK, I can't answer this question

I love the experience the 360 offers as well but Its really a letdown when you turn on your xbox and ask yourself "Is this the day its going to fail?"s1mplehumar wrote:From a hardware standpoint, the XBOX 360. These babies were born to fail. OK, I can't answer this question

Re: Your Personal Least-favourite consoles
I finally broke down and bought a PS3 about 6 months ago. For the last 3 months, it's been at my buddy's house collecting dust. Aside from a few proprietary releases (LBP, Metal Gear Solid 4, 3d Game Dot Heroes,) I'm not impressed with it. I think I enjoyed it more by going back and re-playing my favorite PSone games on it, but that's about it..
Not that I hate my PS3, I just like it the least out of all of my consoles right now...

There are a lot of top not games out there depending on what you play: god of war III, uncharted series, killzone 2, demons souls, and so onRurouni_Fencer wrote:I finally broke down and bought a PS3 about 6 months ago. Really? What? I haven't found any reason to try and repeair or replace my broken CD-i, the thing is atrocious.Thierry Henry wrote:Apart from the game.com, I honestly can't think of another games console that I hate or really dislike. I mean I even have a blast with a few games on the CD-i.
I seem to find some redeeming feature in almost all gaming systems that make it worthwile for me to spend at least some time gaming on them.
I loved Gen 3. Not being able to get all the pokemon sucked, but the game moved at a nice pace and there was a decent variety of pokemon available. Gen 4 is my least favourite - Diamond and Pearl have so few pokemon available to use before you beat the game (many of which are legends or super rare pokemon, making there seem even less), and the battle pace and movement pace and surfing pace was SO SLOW. Hopefully Gen 5 is a bit speedier, there seems to be a better variety of pokemon.YoshiEgg25 wrote:noiseredux wrote:yeah GBA sucks. There was only one worthwhile game and it was a Pokemon one. Grrr.

Also, I love the GBA, games like fire emblem, mario & luigi superstar saga, final fantasy tactics advance and golden sun kept me amused for hours. I love that thing.
Anyhow, personally, for my least favourite console I'd nominate the CD-i, I've not managed to find anything to justify the one I owned. I cant say I'm a huge fan of the 360 and PS3s hardware issues and FPS overload, but at the same time, when they're cheaper I'd like to pick one up and catch up on releases like Tales of Vesperia, Last Guardian, Beautiful Katamari and Valyria Chronicles - games I would like.

I don't think theres any system I hate, except maybe a Master System, because it stirs up emotions of getting ripped off when i attempted to buy one. But that's more dislike the only real memory I have for it. I'm not to crazy about the Genesis though. Just seems kinda meh compared to the SNES, though Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Thunder Force IV are quite awesome.

Plenty of great games for the Sega CD. Sonic CD, Final Fight, Earthworm Jim, Sega Classics, NHL '94, etc.
Name me three decent games for the 3D0.

Re: Your Personal Least-favourite consoles
Well from all the consoles I've ever owned the least favorite was by far the PS2. Yes I know I'm strange but let me elaborate.
In 2002 I got both a Gamecube and a GBA. They had the games of my favorite gaming company in the world, plus a plethora of games on the genres I like the most (platformers, strategy games, RPGs). Ok the gamecube didn't have that many RPGs, but Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia are 2 of my favorite RPG games of all time.
At the same time I gamed on PC. I had to wait 7-9 months to play my PC ports of Vice City and San Andreas, but it was totally worth it.
So in the summer of 2005 I bought a used PS2 for cheap. I rented a lot of games for it, borrowed a lot of games for it from friends and......well I didn't really like the games all that much.
Jack and Daxter was good, but not really better than Super Mario Sunshine, all 3rd party platform games were being released on the Gamecube, strategy games were a no show on consoles (but the GBA had some very good turned based strategy games) and all the remained were RPGs. Well Final Fantasy X I hated for not having a world map, Kingdom Heats I loved but never got to finishing it. Likewise with FF12
So I was left with a console, which I knew had some of the best games of all time, but I just wasn't interest in the genres it had to offer or I had already played them on PC and that is why the PS2 is the console I like the least.
BTW I haven't managed to beat a single game on it.
