I'd say the obvious option is to sell it, use the money from the sale to buy a cart only copy, so you get money from the sale, and you get to play the game. Voila, problem solved!

I've never bought a sealed game of much value, but if I did somehow get one, I would sell it and buy a non sealed copy and enjoy whatever money I have left over.
