Odd PS1 Accessories

Post by lisalover1 »

I've been looking at some PS1 addons and accessories lately, and I've come across some pretty weird stuff, and I was wondering if anyone had any information on them.

I have the EMU cart. If I remember right, there were not any sounds. A novelty, didn't use it too much since the Dreamcast does the same EMUs a lot better.

Any idea where I could get one? Or, are you willing to sell yours?

You know, one of these days I should actually try a Beatmania game. How is it with a standard controller?

The oddest PS1 controller I have is the jogcon:

Before the month is out I want to try it out in Tempest, just to see what happens.

Sorry, I'm an OCD collector. A rare harder to find then import Game Shark carts at swap meets. But you never know, may get lucky.

I got mine at GoCybershop, no more in stock but some other unusual carts there.

I'm considering alternatives to a modchip; does anyone know how well boot discs work? I'm specifically looking at the PSX-Changer 2: http://www.modchipstore.com/ps1-mod-chi ... 16470.html

I have that one too, you have to bypass the door sensor, when inserting your PS1 Import or Backup disc. It works by keeping the switch down with a spring for the PSX or a Tab Tape for the smaller PSOne. The PS2 will need a slide tool of Flip Top. The Mod Chip is so much more convenient, an easier solder job on the larger board of the grey PSX.

I just got a PSOne today, because my PS1's laser is starting to die out. So, if at all possible, I want a mod solution that works well on a PSOne. How hard is it to install a modchip in this model?
