Just bought it today, even though the reviewers raped it i keep hearing good things about it. even from the ppl at the store, who are not above poking at a crap game.
Only complaint is I die alot and there's a load time after you die. and it sucks. but other than that its a great game.

Re: New Splatterhouse - Thoughts?
The load times are honestly the worst part of the game. If you can stomach that, (when you die - hit the media button, grab a drink/food/bathroom break, and return ready to go!)
Some minor glitches and bugs aside, you'll have a fun time! Not too hard, but not too easy either. Plenty to do and unlock and the levels are broken up in such a way that you can sit down and play for half-hour intervals if you're a busy gamer!

it really ties the story up as you progress. A really nice touch, IMHO, to keep you playing and remind you what's going on. The mask also does a nice touch of breaking the third wall now and then.gennss wrote:ahh i found a bug, but thats ok, I restarted in the same place and got through. Freakin awesome game. Mask only said it once, but it said "See this is why we got an M rating" I laughed so hard I dropped the controller.

He also says something about how we all wear masks, no matter the game, or something to that effect, as he forces Rick to question his newly acquainted violent nature. Personally, I thought this little bit of dialogue was pretty cool!

That's an interesting point - I'm not sure! I've been in the market for a NeoGeo and I realize the potential money pit they are. If the Neo CDs are on par with Splatterhouse's load times, I think I could stomach it.
Then again, imagine those similar;ar load times in between every match on King of Fighters.. That might grind my nerves a bit..

Still playing this game. I have a short attention span with games that aren't arcade style, this is pretty amazing for me.
