Predators: I liked this movie as a homage to the original. I hear a lot of people who hate that it seems to be pretty close to the original, but I am glad they did it this way instead of a remake, which seems to be popular these days. I liked the characters, I liked the story, I liked the action.

Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions: I never watched these films, but they appeared on Netflix so I thought, why not? I actually liked Reloaded. I had seen one part that kept me from watching them for years and that is the absurd part where they break into this techno-tribal dance underground. It reminds me of an old Batman episode where everyone suddenly breaks out into the Batusi. Corny. It did get a little overly complicated for the sake of being complicated at times, but I was able to grasp everything by the end with the help of the rewind button. I liked the action scenes in both Reloaded and Revolutions, but the Neo story got annoying after a while. I was more into what was going on with the human-machine war and kept forgetting Neo was even a part of things. The CGI seemed goofy at times in both. I can't remember if it was as bad in the original, I seemed to remember that they used mostly cables and stuff and little CGI. It looked really cartoonish and you could really tell how fake it was when they made Keanu show emotion since he normally has blank face. All in all, I think watching these movies after the hype and then the disappointment that followed wore off helped me enjoy them a bit more. Although I am glad I will never have to see that stupid "stick my hand out palm up and motion the opponent to come here" move again.

Splice: I have been really excited to see this movie, and it wasn't tooo bad, but I was still disappointed. Yeah there were some grossish moments that has a lot of people screaming, but they didn't bother me. What bothered me was the characters. I feel like the lab was filled with these alternative-styled "cool" dudes and chicks and it just came off as annoying. I hated the characters Brody and Polly played. I guess you are supposed to somewhat, but somehow I feel like not all of my hatred was due to the characters being designed the way they were. Some of it was just because they reminded me of a 55 year old guy in a suit sitting in an office saying "lets make the characters look and act like this because that's what's hip with the kids these days." Still, a pretty neat story you can force a moral on if you like.

Outrage aka Autoreiji. A rather flat Yakuza movie that does absolutely nothing original. After being impressed by some of Beat Takeshi's previous works this movie is quite the disappointment.

Shame to hear that, I've got 'Outrage' in my list of films to watch and was hoping Kitano could reclaim some of the brilliance he displayed with Sonatine, Violent Cop & Hana-bi - especially as it's been quite a while since we've had a traditional Beat Takeshi gangster film (2000's 'Brother').

Second. But watch the Criterion DVD for behind the scenes. Great movie!

If I know Snicker, he did indeed watch the Criterion release, and probably on Blu :)

Hilarious that my friends tweets made the article.

What happens when an actor's cable snaps and they land in the audience?
