NES Max controller, would it be usefull for some games?
After playing some Ice Hockey on the NES my thumb started to feel sore from moving my Hockey playing all around the ice. Then I started to wonder would NES Max controller be good for playing Ice Hockey, heck why not other games! Although I don't know one, I wonder if it'd improve the gameplay of ice hockey, or any other games. Anyone know any games that the NES Max controller improves the gameplay of?

I could see it being useful for SFII-style fighting games, but there are vert few of those for the NES.

There are many better third party controller options than the NES MAX. If you really dont want to go third party though, buy an NES Four-Score multi tap. The device was intended to give four player support, but it also has turbo fire toggles on it allowing any NES controller to have turbo fire. Four-Score + NES 101 Dogbone controller = win.

You are not the only one. It is my favourite NES controller. I've used it with everything from Blades of Steel to Metroid, Mario 3 to Rad Racer, Mega Man 2 to Castlevania III... literally everything. I love the darn thing.renardqueenston wrote:i think i'm the only person that uses the Max for almost everything. even shooters! i just dig the way it works.

Then again, I got it early and just kept using it. I'm very used to it.

What about the Turbo Touch 360? That could be cool if you don't like the NES Max and your thumb gets tired.

The NES Max was originally promoted with Ice Hockey, in fact.XxBroBuzzxX wrote:After playing some Ice Hockey on the NES my thumb started to feel sore from moving my Hockey playing all around the ice. I love the Max. Most of the hatred comes from the fact that people expect it to work like an analog stick these days... which of course it isn't supposed to. I find the Max gives me a good advantage in many shooter games.
In fact, the beloved NES Advantage is the one that isn't all that effective at improving the gameplay (the rubber stick is not so hot).
