TOTAL: 53

Xardion was interesting. It's technically a mech-based "action platformer", but includes an RPG system in which the mechs level, enabling more health, ammunition for special attacks, access to new special attacks, and sometimes more powerful base attacks. Xardion also allows the player to revisit old levels for access to more experience and items. Yet the game looks and sounds like a NES game and suffers from a horrible translation that makes the story difficult to follow...which is sad, because what comes through is actually pretty interesting and a bit upsetting.

Apparently Gainax had something to do with the game, alongside Hajime Katoki, who helped create Mobile Suit designs for the Gundam franchise, and Moriki Yasuhiro, who helped design Zeorymer for the OAV Hades Project Zeorymer. At least that's what Wikipedia tells me.

Oh well, points for killing off a character via a wave of hydrochloric acid.

Yoshi's Story - N64

After finishing SMW I was excited to play Yoshi's Island which I never had, I got mailed a cart from someone on another forum, which ended up being a bootleg, while annoyed I did not mind all too much as it was cart only, and in reality I prefer GBA games boxed because the carts are so small, the only issue was it wouldnt save so I need to swap out the battery. ANYWAY was in the mood for something Yoshi-ish so I played Yoshi's Story instead.

The engine itself could have made a pretty decent little platformer, but the level (story book) system is annoying.

Total: 74

One game off my goal!

Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?

Since Thanksgiving:
  • VVVVVV (PC)
  • Portal (PC)
  • Octodad (PC)
  • Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent (PC)
  • Genetos (PC)
  • Braid (PC) NEW
Total: 6

Man, Braid is tough. It really is. But it's also...oh, who am I kidding, it isn't rewarding. I hated the ending. Seriously? That's the end? That ending is almost worst than Puzzle Agent's.
