63. $5.50
73. $26
117. $20
147. $5.50
298. $1
304. $2
...........and updated!
The bids on 263-270 are despicable. I don't read comics or manga, but that is a ton of stuff that deserves to be bid much higher. Consider that media shipping alone will run at least ~$10 a box, those need to go much higher.
Also, apologies to those of you who bid on something incorrectly - but the no retraction rule stands and others have had to abide by it. Encourage people to overbid your mistakes!

What difference does it make if the bid was meant for a different item? The money all goes to the same place. I understand if someone was trying to pull a complete retraction but accidentally putting the wrong number is a forgivable oversight especially considering as much as the items have changed around. I'm not trying to make waves here but that type of thing may discourage people from participating in the future.dsheinem wrote:63. $5.50

Re: **FINAL HOURS** 2010 CHARITY AUCTION FOR MAKE-A-WISH~BID NOW
y'know the shipping alone on #162 is worth $11 alone...
Re: *FINAL DAY* 2010 CHARITY AUCTION FOR MAKE-A-WISH~GO BID MORE
While you have a point whats to stop everyone from claiming they meant to bid on a different item? If you make an exception for even one person the entire auction would become useless as anyone could claim they were bidding on any other item. There would be no way to settle the disputes, and thus no items would be shipped and more importantly no money collected for charity.jp1 wrote:What difference does it make if the bid was meant for a different item? Re: **FINAL HOURS** 2010 CHARITY AUCTION FOR MAKE-A-WISH~BID NOW
While I'm at it I might as well point out that I think the pressure to bid heavily has been a little exhaustive this year. I understand it is for charity and I agree that it shouldn't be a bargain hunt but if an item sells for $2 or $3 it is better than if it doesn't sell at all. Not all of us have deep pockets and it is good that people can participate without having to drop a lot of money they may not have.
I think if you want to be picky about what the items sell for then you should just start them at a minimum acceptable price. If people aren't generally interested in something and have $3-$4 sitting around and decide to put it on something they might not even be that interested in just so that the item doesn't go unsold that is certainly better than the charity receiving nothing for that item.
I'm not talking about the encouragement or "talking up" an item that is perfectly acceptable but you shouldn't make people feel badly if they can't afford to drop $20 on a pile of magazines or something.
Sorry, I won't go on about it. The spirit of the whole thing is definitely in the right place but I think everyone should feel comfortable participating even if they can't go without food for a week to do so.

Re: **FINAL HOURS** 2010 CHARITY AUCTION FOR MAKE-A-WISH~BID NOW
I'm one of the people who misbid (on 313 if anybody wants to bail me out), but I care less because it is charity and not an ordinary private auction. I do understand why Dave is saying that though, because then anybody can claim "oh, I misbid" if they decide to have second thoughts.
