The ultimate retro?: Mattel Electronics hand helds

Post by Scooter »

I still have all my Mattel Electronics hand helds I got as a kid. All but one still have their original boxes and instructions and they all still work. They are still fun to play. Great little LED games, who needs hi-def graphics to have fun? Heck, who needs graphics at all! :D

The ones I have are:

-Football
-Football II
-Soccer
-Basketball
-Baseball
-Armor Battle
-Mind Boggler
-Auto Race (my favorite!)
-Battlestar Galactica

I'd like to find an orignal box for my Football game and find a few others I never had as a kid:

-Sub Search
-Bowling
-Basketball II

i think the tiger electronics were better. They covered a more variety of games. Like the movie type ones. I loved the rocketeer and the batman game. Was fucking aweseomeo. I was at target the other day and i saw a few wanna be tiger electronic handheld games. I cant remember but i think tiger also made the super off road handheld game. totally badass.

the tiger electronic portables were from a different generation from the old mattel ones

I got to play the Auto Racing one when I was young, tho I don't think I owned it, was probably a neighbor kids =)

I have been looking for a Merlin for circuit bending fun, but haven't run across a beat up one for cheap yet

I did have the tiger lcd portable of double dragon which was great as a little bit older kid

both kinds were fun, just from different era's

I had the Sonic Tiger game. I probably have it buried somewhere.
Oh how I treasured that before I got my Genesis :)
