Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Spinner was just dandy. The cord was pulled past the black insulation so the bundle of colored wires was showing and then it wasn't working which was alarming. Went to open it up and the screws were already loose. I think whomever tried to look at it before couldn't pull the knob off (there are a few teeth marks) and didn't get to the nut hidden under there and so couldn't open it.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:How's the spinner on that Arkaanoid paddle, did it need regreasing?
Thankfully the cord has an internal plug onto the board and it had been pulled loose. Scrubbed the case, knob, and buttons, snaked the cord back through the tug stop a little further in so the cord was good outside and it works great. No jitters and didn't need adjusting with the secondary pot. I could do without the bite marks, but for the price with the extra games I'm happy.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Obvious a difference of opinion. Still at the $2.99 brand new price, what harm to at least give it a try? One may actually like the different approach as I do, a new entertaining way to play a game.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Don't call me impatient or ignorant of reading the manual. It's honestly just not a good product.CRTGAMER wrote:Have you tried it? I have two and love this PS2 controller!
Problem is a many don't take the time or read instructions.
No table needed, place the board on your lap as a "kneeboard", then kick back on the couch and enjoy a mouse driven FPS on a game console. Of course the speed is not up there as a regular mouse, limited by the speed setting of the Analog stick. Here is the fix. Set the right analog sensitivity to max in a given game setting screen. Control the speed with the left "Nunchuck" Dial or Focus button, your choice.
SplitFish makes some crazy innovative controllers, a departure from the norm. I also like their PS2 Tilt Sensor posted earlier. Most gamers may be turned off by the different type of control. But for three bucks, worth the effort to at least give it a go. I see it as a new form to play the game.
I had their MotionFX and EdgeFXcontrollers for a while back when they launched in the spring of 2007 and they were cheap crap.
No matter how much of a good deal something is doesn't mean it's a good product. It's a junky peripheral for the reasons I mentioned before and my opinion stands given personal experience with both. Yeah, they work. But I'll take smooth and accurate controls over laggy, jerky, unresponsive ones anyday.
Not to mention the sensitivity adjustment isn't going to do anything but make it either too fast or too slow in terms of reaction time.
I don't know why you had the jerky motion, maybe the sensor mouse was not staying solid on the pad or the vibration was turned on? The unorthodox form of control does take getting used to, a given practice at the controls. I felt the movement to be smooth, and being able to kick the sensitivity up or down on the fly a nice bonus. The Nunchuck dial allows a wide range of sensitivity adjustment, while the Focus button has an instant slowdown for zoomed in scope shooting. A very precise aim, sniping the rocket shooter in the tower of Black. The EdgeFX lefthanded Nunchuck also isn't locked to the lap pad, it can be held as a Wii Nunchuck stick.
After a page of side tracking, I'm curious about the vacuum. The pricey Dyson is always being advertised, never heard of this one. Amazon does show good reviews from customers.s1mplehumar wrote:Behold! My new Neptune from Miele. Suck it Dyson!
Great Find on the Sega carts!
Congrats! Any luck on Thunder and Lightning? Maybe also there might be other Taito games that work besides Arkanoid and Chase HQ.Hobie-wan wrote:Got a NES arkanoid controller (plus SMB, Anticipation, and Remote Control carts) for $15 shipped. I had to do a minor fix and clean on the controller, but it works great. Unfortunately I still suck at Arkanoid.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Only one thing today, but it's kind of important: I got Um Jammer Lammy sealed for $2 today, which makes it the first sealed PS1 game in my collection!
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Recently got Lost Kingdoms 2 GC, Tohshinden 3 PS1, a sealed Halo 3 Essentials disc (from the Legendary set), and a complete Warcraft 3 Collector's Edition Box Set in great condition at the local Goodwill... The collector's box was $14 and the other items were $2.99... I really should make it a weekly visit to drop by the Goodwill!
