I didn't think it was cheating if you're allowed to pick what level you want to start on?

BTW, has anyone actually played BOTH the Jaguar port of original Tempest and the GBA port to see how close they are? I'm just curious because the screenshot 707 posted is nothing like what's shown in my port, and I'm pretty sure the GBA port is very close to the arcade. Just wondering.

anyway, next time I play I'm gonna start from lvl 1 just to see if it seems to effect my score range much.

I'd say they're very different. The sound and graphics are updated for the Jag version (even for Traditional Mode) and it plays differently too with the arcade version and the GBA port being much harder. It seems that most of the webs are the same, but the enemies come at you faster. It's probably not fair to lump all the scores together.

updated the highscores in the 1st post, and added which port we're each playing. It seems none of us can really decide how across-the-boards the ports are as far as scoring goes. So instead of getting to wrapped up in beating each other, I figured this would just be a nice way to keep track of our personal bests.
