Store bought Christmas cookie question
Yes I know it is an odd question for a gaming forum but I figured what the hey.
For the past ten years I have been looking for a type of cookie that I use to love as a child. It was a store bought Christmas cookie that came in one of two varieties: Butter and Sugar. The cookies were in one of three shapes: wreath, angel, and bell. And they had two colors of sprinkles on them red and green (duh). They came in a big white bag and were usually discounted to under a dollar after Christmas.
I havent seen them since the 90s but would LOVE to know if I could get them again. Anyone have any ideas? I dont believe they were made by Murray, but I may be wrong.

Re: Store bought cookie question
I would think they were probably just sugar cookies or shortbread. Or were you hoping for a name brand?

Seems like a good topic for this:
I haven't found these recently. They look just like these (minus silver thing, don't know what that is). Used to get them all the time up north. They had them at walgreens a couple years ago. I can't think of the brand. The logo was a kid in a cookie jar, and I think he was licking his lips.

My grandma used to get a huge variety bucket of these cookies around the holidays. The Pinwheels were my favorite. They used to (maybe they still are, IDK though) be made around where my family used to live in Chicago. I remember going to the store where they made them on numerous occasions. They closed the original location in 2008, but they reopened somewhere else or something. Not too sure.

You are looking for Spritz cookies, also known as German Butter cookies. They're called spritz cookies because the way they are squirted or squeezed out of a tube.
I don't know who sells them at a grocery store, but I do have an excellent recipe for them if you'd like.

I still wish there is Egg Nog and yes Fruit Cake year around.
Description sounds like the Danish Butter cookies, though I can't think of a unique Christmas flavored variety. Never heard of Luke 's German Spritz cookies, seems to be the one.
