I have the trade paperback of JTHM (11th or 17th printing or something ridiculous), Invader Zim DVDs, and a stuffed robot mode Gir. I also have a couple of promo Invader Zim tapes in my sale thread.

The Bass Kittens mix of the theme song is pretty good too.

Potential fan here? I love Invader Zim, and I've been meaning to read JtHM and his other comics since about forever ago, but I haven't quite got around to it yet.

I have all of the JtHM comics and Squee comics bought from when they were originally released and all of my JtHMs and Squee #1 were signed by Jhonen himself at a comic signing I went to when Squee was first released.

I was into and collected most of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics, but my interest in JV's work waned after the first couple issues of Squee. Don't know much about Invader Zim, but glad the guy found some success outside of comics.

I'll have to dig out and revisit JHM. Last time I attempted to inventory my collection I was shocked that JHM #1 was missing, could have sworn I bought it. Those comics bring back memories of caffeine and weed fueled late nights in the mid 90's.

Uh, sort of? The show was cancelled early--due largely to creative differences, IIRC--and Vasquez said something to the effect that he never wanted to work on another show ever again. Dunno if I can call that "success" by standards that would likely mean much to Mr. Vasquez. The show sure got popular and sold a lot of merch though.

I only know of JV because of Invader Zim. I had no idea who he was until that show. I've never really read his comics, but I've looked into Johnny, which is a cool premise.

Coincidentally, my friend Lila who's last name is also Vasquez had a son 6 years ago and named him Jhonan. She spelled it with an A, rather than an E. Not sure why.

We call him Jhonz (jones)
