DC Shooters My Personal Opinions, Ideas, And Questions

Post by abeisgreat »

Dreamcast Shooters I Have Played:

Unreal Tournament,
Quake 3 Arena,
Propeller Arena,
Half-Life,
(More To Come, Hopefully I will continue to update this thread)

Unreal Tournamant

Opinions:
UT is obviously a classic first person shooter. I believe UT is one of the best dreamcast FPS mainly because it has *SOME* replay value now traditionally games that dont have a real story line, that have under 10 weapons, and have next generations already released tend to be overlooked. Now I wont say this game is deep but its entertaining which sadly to say some more modern shooters lack.

Ideas:
MAKE MORE WEAPONS. Seriously it takes a whole extra what? week to add another gun into a game. At least make a selection. Add a flamethrower, or an antigravity gun, whatever. Just add more.

Questions:
None

Quake 3 Arena

Opinions:
This game is great... if you dont have UT. Once I got Unreal I pretty much put this game in its case and never took it back out. This game also lacks a story, but for pick up and play its entertaining. But dont plan to spend alot of time in this game because it gets old.

Ideas:
Again add more guns... that is all

Questions:
Is it possible to host your own Quake game?

Propeller Arena

Opinions:
This game is so great. Its probably the best DC game I've played yet. Really smooth and high quality. If it had been released I would tell you to buy it.

Ideas:
Oh i dont know, just throwing this out there you could have RELEASED IT!

Questions:
Why wasnt it released? I heard something bout it was comming out right after 9/11 but they decided not to because Sega thought it would give em a bad image, but i dunno

Half-Life

Opinions:
Very smooth gameplay, good controls, good gfx, definatly worth buying... if it had been released

Ideas:
Im sure they could have reduced the load times if they had tried but they didnt.

Questions:
Nones

Hope I didnt bore you

Yes, it is possible to host your own Quake server online. see http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com for how-to.

I love the game, especially the sountrack to it, amazing. I even found the game soundtrack online and put it on my iPod. :)

About the load times, the load times are so long because the game wasn't finished before it was cancelled. That is also why the save file gets larger and larger as you get further through the levels.
