N64 Joy-stick Putting it Back Together help. [FIXED]

Well I opened up my N64 controller to fix my joystick. And after cleaning it and all that stuff, I can't seem to put it back together. More specifically, I can't get the two things (as seen the the pictures below) to snap together. I'm pretty sure I have all the parts in the right places, but it just won't snap together

I don't know about this guys tape trick, but this should help you get it back together.

Put the two black bars into place on the joystick stick and then the base onto it; the black bar in pic 3 needs to be in the stick in pin 2 or it won't close. You then hold the two case sections together while screwing in the screw to hold it all together.

Short of physically showing you in person, I can't really help you. There was a gap (the time it took you to clean it) in between taking it apart and trying to put it back together, so maybe you just don't remember exactly how it all came apart. If this be the case, if you have another controller handy, why not open another joystick to visually see how it comes apart?
