I played it through on Hardened and I have to say I was utterly surprised at how much I enjoyed this game, much more original story than the others, though somewhat predictable at times. For the first time since 1 and 2, I feel like a COD game was a decent length.
I dont play games online so I couldn't tell you about the multiplayer other than splitscreen zombies which is fun.
Despite all the talk about IW leaving and this and that, the single player campaign is easily the best (To me at least)
Feeding Frenzy was pretty fun, though the last few Whale stages were pretty hard, overall when you consider this is on a disc with 5 games and the disc cost's 3 bucks at EB, its really a bargain.

I reached my 50 games goal!
I couldn't help myself. After beating the first Fatal Fury, I had to sit down and finish out the series on the SNES. I also played a little Art of Fighting recently, but ended up being unmercifully pummeled. Oh well. Though in the past I've registered my distaste for the lane system, it wasn't too much of a hassle to deal with. I still don't like it much, but it had its moments. I preferred Special for the increased cast list, though I had some strange moments where the AI flaked out on me in it, especially Billy Kane. Both games feel like a much needed improvement on the first game.

Re: Games Beaten: 2010
Looks like I'll probably be stuck at the 106 mark for the year. I just moved into a new place this past weekend and still have a ton of unpacking to do.
I may finish Space Invaders Infinity Gene before the end of the year, but I also plan on tackling the rest of the Fallout 3 DLC and I'm currently having technical difficulties with that. The game won't load any of my DLC when I'm not connected to the internet for some reason.
I recently had to do a license transfer on my 360, so I'm wondering if something went wrong there.
My goal for January is to get through the all of the main series Sonic games.

Hell YES! I finally beat this game, I have been at Bowser's Castle for like a year and I would pick it up ad play it for 20 minutes, lose a few times and crack the shits and turn it off. Today I finally beat the stupid turtle and can knock a big game off my list, just in time as I have Yoshi's Island for GBA coming in the mail (Which I will play via GBP).

I did 1 and 2 earlier in the year, let me tell you, 1 is fucking balls hard and 2 took me quite awhile after all the normal zones that one picked up to. Really not as easy as I always thought they were. Still unable to find Sonic 3 and a decent price (I have S&K ready and waiting). My goal for January is to get through the all of the main series Sonic games.
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
I can run through those two games, grabbing all the chaos emeralds, easily in less than an hour. I wouldn't consider myself a master at the game, as I thought most gamers thought the sonic series is pretty, well, simple.emwearz wrote:

This is either only my third or fourth time beating Sewer Shark, and it is always a pleasure to make a visit to Solar City. I usually make it to sector 19 without a problem, then lose a little focus and miss a turn following the crazy thing. I made a perfect run last night, which I think is the only way I've ever beaten the game.
I still think the game gets a bad rep. It is difficult, but I find it very entertaining, and actually fun as long as I don't die for making a silly mistake after playing the game for two hours.
I think I'm going to tackle Fester's Quest next. I've only beaten the game twice, and I'mpretty sure I used cheats one of those times.

Wild Guns is fun stuff. Its not an easy game, but thanks to infinite continues its not the hardest game ever. Still, beating some of the levels within the 3 lives alloted can be pretty challenging sometimes. The weapon variety is fun, the theme (robot ninja cowboys) is fun, the crazy action is fun, and the game itself is fun.
I would say though, that to me at least (as a poor student :p) this game wouldn't be worth the money the actual cart could set me back (aound £40). That said, I don';t think a lot of cult classics are worth their asking price *cough*SNESChronoTriggerEarthboundRadiantSilvergunPanzerDragoonSaga*cough*. Im sure my opinion may change when/if I ever have a disposable income as large as some of you guys seem to have!
Anyhow, I'm currently trying to beat 12 games before christmas in my 12 games of christmas marathon in order to get my backlog down to less than 20% unbeaten before christmas (and my birthday - christmas eve) comes and ruins all my hard work with new games. Wild Guns was game 9. Game 10, 11 & 12 will be metroid, fantasy zone and christmas nights. The big question is whether I'll be able to beat Fantasy Zone on time. Heres hoping....

So I beat Tuff E Nuff on hard difficulty. I feel this game's terrible, but oddly enough after looking around, I've discovered a lot of people really love it. So I thought I'd look over it and consider the positives and negatives of the game.
The stages are the highest point for me in this game, and they're quite nice. Jeleco used a multilayered effect, so stages have depth and shift in such a way to produce a nifty 3D effect as you fight back and forth. Every fight ends with a replay mode which will allow you to view the final moments of a match either faster than it actually happened or practically frame-by-frame, so if you're unsure how you won or lost, you can capture the moment. The music's nice, and while some people complained about the voice effects being garbled, the sound effects weren't too bad. Finally, as you progress through the story mode, your character's special moves become larger and flashier, making you appear to be more powerful after every opponent.
Unfortunately that's about all I like. While all characters are available in the multiplayer or VS. CPU modes, only four are selectable for the main plot, and two are palette swaps, so technically three characters are available to play through the game. Combat is also a one-hit-at-a-time affair: similarly to World Heroes, the game eschews a combo system. But while in World Heroes you could continue to fight on, Tuff E Nuff pauses the action for half a second any time a move connects, and if a player is in their animation for taking damage, they can't be hit immediately. On the one hand it makes it easy to set up for a special move or think ahead, but on the other it slows the fight down and makes gameplay feel rigid and choppy. This pause is kept out of the replays, so those actually feel a lot smoother to watch than the game is to play and left me wondering if the half-second delay after a hit was intentional or merely the result of poor coding. Factor in that the main method for characters to move around is by jumping back and forth, and it's pretty much an aerial affair with the player deciding to either attack or defend based on the length of the other guy's arms.
In fact, because hopping is the way to move, most fights can be won simply by moving to a place where the opponent has to hop over you, and then connecting with a low kick or punch right as they hit the ground. This simple strategy works on nearly everybody, and even got me through the final boss fight on Hard difficulty. There are only three difficulties in the game, and the endings were removed from the US release, so now you get a splash screen when you win congratulating you and telling you what difficulty you played on.
I feel I gave this game a fair shake, beating it on both Easy and Hard difficulty, but the gameplay felt slapped together.
Meh, but I suppose I've proven that "Hey Punk, I really am Tuff E Nuff."
