Looks pretty cool, i loved the shit outta Space Invaders extreme on the DS so i gotta give this a try

Did anyone else play this? I just beat Space Invaders Extreme on XBLA and was considering downloading Infinity Gene this weekend.

I have IG and it's pretty cool, but I haven't really dug into it yet (got it in that 2400 MSP deal). I kind of which I would have gotten SI: Extreme instead. I have it on the DS and it's pretty good stuff. IG seems more focused on looks than new gameplay.

Haven't really played much of the newer Space Invaders games since the N64/PS1 version (which I still think is pretty good, mind you) but I gave the demo a download on PS3 and I am VERY impressed with it. When I get a chance, I'll pick up the full game.

Does anyone know how the Music mode works on PS3? Is it similar to that PC game AudioSurf where the game responds more to the drums and bass?
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I beat the game on normal mode today. I didn't try the music mode, so I can't comment on it, but from what I hear it utilizes music on your hard drive to generate enemy patterns.

I enjoyed this a bit more than Space Invaders Extreme, but that's not to say SIE is bad by any means. They are just entirely different styles of games... it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges.

For the record, I beat the XBLA version of the game today. :)
