Wow, that's looks awesome and check out the website, http://store.gameasylum.us/reduo8bit16b ... PAod338MFQ

They claim it plays 100% SNES and NES regardless of regardless of regain and even games with the chip like Mario RPG.

Does any body have one and can they support these claims?

I'm always skeptical about those types of claims.....

It's known that all those crappy yobo systems and knock offs don't play 100%.

however! - looking at their description for the Messiah generation NEX, they *do* state that it isn't 100% compatible (which is the truth). So if they are honest about that, then they might be telling the truth about the console you are looking at.

I can't tell if it looks really slick or really cheesy though.

the FC twin has been improved a bit, ive seen 2 mainboard revisions of it. the first version was fucking TERRIBLE. snes controllers other than the ones packed in with the system wouldnt work in NES mode, and the composite output for the snes side was worse than some RF output i've seen. the second one i had gave much better composite out and any snes controller worked in nes mode on it. oh and bte those claims that the zapper wont work on it are lies :P if you build a suitable adapter (like i did) the zapper will work. you will need to gut an NES controller extension cable and a snes controller extension cable to make one though. i doubt that this retro duo will be any better than the FC twin aside form the S-video out. if they added a 411 clone (lockout chip) then games like kirby superstar and mario RPG should work on it. but i'll bet the chipset is probably identical to the FC twin, much the same as all NES clones use the same NOAC chips

Could the FC Twin play Mario RPG? I don't remember. if it cant then i doubt it would be the same "insides". Seeing star fox run on it (Retro Duo) seems like a massive achievement to me.

umm starfox will run on the FC twin. i have one and it does work. also, the only reason SA_1 games wont work on it is because they have protection to see if the lockout chip has been disabled. the FC twin does not have a lockout chip therefore it behaves like a snes with the lockout disabled. mario RPG and kirby will not run on a real snes if the lockout is disabled

Oh .. didn't know it ran on the FC :P

Well since RPG doesn't work on the FC and does on the Retro .. wouldn't that mean they aren't the same internally? Someone on the internets needs to post a vid of it running all the problem SNES and NES games. Then i shall buy one :P

The other thing i didn't like about the FC is the color and sound problems. From that short video review it looks like the Retro is having no problems in this area.

They have a Genesis/NES one out to... Really with it was Genesis/SMS instead :'(

From the site:
# You can use Zapper gun on this system with soon to be released SNES to NES adapter.
# Even games with the "FX" 3D chip work 100% because of built in handling chips.
# Mario RPG works 100%
# Works with Game Genie
# Very well vented. Stays cool no matter how long you play.
# This system is 100% compatible meaning, that we do not know of ANY game that will not work.
# Audio Video Ports
# S-Video Port
# Switch between 8 bit (NES) and 16 bit (SNES) modes
I think that looks pretty promising.... actually it looks way better than the FC Twin
