Good exclusive PS1 games?

If you only got one game for your PS1, what would it be? (or if there would be a while until you got a 2nd game)?

Does that decision change if you only have original controllers (no dual shocks, no analog stick at all) I have a memory stick so RPGs are fair game.

Basically I'm looking for something memorable, that is playable with just the d-pad thingy, and is exclusive to the PS1 (I have a N64 and a Saturn). I just want to get one for now to give some use to my unchipped PS1. I assume one day I'll get a PS2 and it's more worth it to chip that one to run other classics that I assume will be quite out of the commercial circuit by then.

Didnt read post correctly,

If I could only pick one game, no analog controls, probably final fantasy tactics. that game is way to long.

Einhander seems a promising shooter and Klonoa and Strider 2 good platformers... There's a bunch of RPGs but it seems that (leaving FFs outside) Xenogears would be the more unique one; as for FF Tactics, there's a GBA version I think so I'll leave it for now.

Hopefully one day I will have time to play all of these!

EDIT: typical, no PAL release. Maybe Vagrant Story then.

Dude if I could only have one game, it would so not be trap gunner, thats like game number 53, its great multiplayer, dont get me wrong, but game numero uno..no, because its only fun mulitplayer...I think we should warn the guy about that.

If we are getting really obscure, Im voting for Tomba, thats a neat game, one of the first PSX games I ever got.
