Where can I find Mountain of Faith?

Post by Radiant Hero »

Ever since I read in an article on this site about how cool Mountain of Faith is for the PC, I wanted to get my fingers on it. I even read about the game's predecessors such as Shoot The Bullet and Imperishable Night , but I cannot find these games anywhere. Anyone have any leads as to where I can find these shooters?
I don't play games, I experience them.

They use to sell it on Amazon.co.jp. But nowadays you have to find an doujin website, usually one who goes to Comiket. Granted if you dont want to pay, torrents are your best option. I highly suggest paying, since they are awesome games, but they do come out to being about $35 a pop before shipping.

Are they easy to follow if you don't know japanese? From a superplay video I saw of one of these games, there is quite a lot of (skippable) text all in japanese. But I guess you can just opt out on that and just shoot things (and get shot down a lot, from the bloody patterns I've seen on bosses!)

What I did was read up on the games and learn the different combos and strategies. I'm not playing for the story, I usually pick the hottest looking chick and just shoot stuff..haha, but seriously, you can get far on SHMUPS with not knowing the language.

There are english translations on the TouhouWiki:
http://www.pooshlmer.com/touhouwiki/ind ... ranslation
And people have made patches for some of the other games. I glanced over the storylines but really do not pay them to much attention. I prefer Reimu/the red girl, the shrine maiden as my main character, attack mode A - Homing. To much going on to make sure I am hitting the boss, even though the boss counter helps.

Also if you are hit you have a split second to sacrifice two bombs/spellcards instead of a life - it has saved my life on Perfect Cherry Blossom's Phantasm stage several time.

Awesome!!! I've wanted to try these games out for a while now!

Is there another link for the demos that one gives me the error or doom message?

Will these games load only any PC?

Shoot the core has some, but not Mountain of Faith:

Perfect Cherry Blossom is my favorite out of the bunch. And if this much interest has come about I may have to finish up that article.
