they can be easily found at any craft shop or homegoods type store in the states, try a tesco or something over there, they will probably have it somewhere. you could also search online, they are waaaaaaaay cheap.

Cool. I think I'd like to make Bub and Bob (from Bubble Bobble) - is there a good way to check on which colors to get, your the idea is just to get a huge number of beads of all available colors?

Try to buy the individual colours, buying the big bag sounds great but separating the colours is an arduous task. They are called Perler Beads and should run you about ten bucks for all the stuff you will need. Make sure you get a backing plate and some extra ironing papers. You can do it without the plate but it is a tough gig.

Can you please tell me if and where you find them? I'm in Portugal right now but will go by the U.K. in 2 months or so, but not for a long period (for a week or so). Knowing where I can get them in advance will help a lot.

Amazon sells these beads:

Looks like they are also known as hama beads and fuse beads here in the UK. So search for hama beads on the Amazon site if the above link isnt working.

Also found some on sale on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5500-Beads-and-4- ... dZViewItem

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot, Kinn! If I make the Dragons from Bubble Bobble I'll see about posting some pics here.

EDIT: After looking a bit, what seems to be best is getting 1 medium/large square board, and some sets of single colored beads. How many colors did these sort of sprites have? It would be great if we could get similar hues. I saw some people on Flickr with sprites already made.
