I got a red wii on black friday and it looks great, but in the end it is another wii. Get a 360 and enjoy the live arcade. Shadow complex and super meat boy are fantastic purchases.

Two years?
Get a 360 (or another PS3), unless you really need the VC. Then get both! There are more games on the 360/PS3 that will last you longer than on the Wii.

Keep in mind it can be tough to find anyone playing either TMNT on XBLA. You'd have to wrangle up some people to get a game going. That being said, I love all three current gen systems but if I'm stuck like chuck for a while, I'm going 360 for the social/multi-player aspect. I love my Wii but in order for me to get the most out of it I have to round up some friends to play in one place.l0whit07 wrote: Games tend to be fairly cheap on it. There are already a handful of games I am very interested in playing... The XBLA has TMNT ARCADE with updated graphics!!! Too cool. Also Perfect Dark, Crazy Taxi... more and more.
Plus dirt cheap gaming helps. If I had $100 to spend I'm pretty sure I could get two years worth of games to play.

Well you already have a Wii which is my favorite console presently, and I just can't recommend a 360 due to my experience with all 5 or 6 I've gone through. So I'm gonna break off track a little and recommend a Dreamcast or PS2. Theres tons of great, must play games for each system and you could buy both consoles, and build a decent library for each one for around the cost of a new 360 or Wii. Just something to think about is all. Obviously if your a big online player, this wouldn't be the best choice.

You know, I've been seriously thinking of getting a Dreamcast. There is one back where I'm from that has been sitting at a used store forever! CIB for $37. I've almost bought it so many times, but then I always remember that I don't like Sega. I feel like I need at least 1 Sega console, and the Dreamcast would be the one I would get.
As far as online gaming goes, that is not too much of a concern. The only thing I really want to play online would be Halo, all other multiplayer I like to do local! So much more fun.
Does the Xbox have much to offer in the form of pick up and play games? I'm not a big RPG fan or anything like that. I love platformers, fighters, beat em' ups, shoot em' ups. I'm in no way a "hardcore" gamer. I like to pick up a game, play it, and have fun with it.

Dreamcast is the only Sega console I really like. It's also the most affordable, mainly because of the whole burning CD-R thing. For your other question, I'd say that because of XBLA, you have a messload of platformer/shmup/and beat 'em up options. I don't know about fighters, but I'd presume it has whatever the PS3 has in that department.l0whit07 wrote:corn619 wrote:Well you already have a Wii which is my favorite console presently, and I just can't recommend a 360 due to my experience with all 5 or 6 I've gone through. Then the Dreamcast would be a fine choice. Theres tons to choose from in the genres you've mentioned above.l0whit07 wrote:I'm not a big RPG fan or anything like that. Since you already own the Wii and PS3, I think it's time to complete the collection. Getting a 360 will definitely be worth your while. I suggest you pick up Earth Defense Force, though it may look like a last gen title, it packs a whole lot of fun; especially with local 2 player coop.

You don't like sega and you're thinking about getting 2 wiis instead of an xbox. I'm just not sure any of our advice is going to make sense to your line of thinking.
