Re: Is my Sega Saturn modchip defective?
Haha. Tried with a disc in before turning on? Which thread had the guy doing the reset thing to get it going? Both of the Saturn 2s I've done worked with just bridging A>B and the power lead. I didn't have to do pin 14 on either of them. Check and make sure that all the solder joints are ok on the chip since it is pretty flexible and made a trip through the mail?
I've never met a pun I didn't like. - Stark

Re: Is my Sega Saturn modchip defective?
How was this ever resolved? This saturn looks the same as mine (32 pin) and seems to be experiencing all the same symptoms. Installed mod chip, still plays originals, 2 green cubes, etc. CDRs only read as audio. Tried desoldering and resoldering all connections. Please advise.
***EDIT*** nevermind, i was given bad backup images of my games, everything seems to be in working order

Re: Is my Sega Saturn modchip defective?
I have a defective chip too. From what I understand from reading other forums, and a few other places that sell the same chip that racket does, is that there is only one company still making these modchips, and they're not the most reliable in the world. So its not racketboy's fault, its really just a manufacturer that won't step it up because we have no other choice.
