Just given a NGPC - Looking for the best cheap games

Post by Czernobog »

So today has been a fantastic day. To begin with, I had a very promising and exciting job interview this morning. Then upon returning to my house, my lady-friend very unexpectedly gave me a nice blue Neo Geo Pocket Color out of nowhere!

It came with new batteries, even the sub battery, but no game. I plan on ordering Sonic Pocket Adventure and Dark Arms, but was wondering if there were any other games generally found for under five or ten dollars which anyone here considers "must haves."

I plan on going for a decently priced bundle eventually but am wondering about titles I might want to specifically seek out, even if I don't see them in any bundles. Thanks in advance!

try amazon, I bought some games about a year ago. Dont know if the games are still available from their affiliates, but I ended up getting some used games for about $2ish. Shipping ended up costing more!

Yeah, I usually prefer Amazon over Ebay/Half.com when looking for individual items, especially ones that are generally found cheap, so that's where I'll most likely end up buying. I just noticed that Metal Slug: First Mission goes for a low price so I'll probably grab that one.

I bought this bundle to get a lot of NGPC games quick. Really any of the NGPC fighting games are must haves (especially Gals' Fighters). Sonic Pocket Adventure is pure ass kickage. It's like the best of the Sega Genesis Sonic games in one tiny cartridge (a "Sonic's Greatest Hits" if you will ;))

I haven't played them for very long yet, but the Metal Slug Mission games are fun. Puzzle Link 1 and 2 are cool, too. It's one of those "connect one block to another" puzzlers. If you don't have them on another platform Puyo Pop and Puzzle Bobble Mini have good ports on the Neo Geo Pocket.

I think I might end up getting a near complete NTSC-U collection for this thing quicker then I expected. Every game you mentioned looks like a ton of fun and so do all the others I've been looking at. I just watched the Classic Game Room HD review where he showcases Gal Fighters and it does look really fun. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a new handheld.
