I like Rolling Rock. Might not be my favorite, but I like it alright.

Speaking of Rolling Rock, I just bought some today so I could enjoy with my friends while we watch the Bulls/Lakers game tonight. I'm a big fan of the Rock, but its definitely not my favorite.

@ Saturnfun, I agree. No more discussion of this 'coors light' or Guinness bullshit. That is not beer. It's crap.

World's strongest beer @ 32%. My buddy bought a bottle once and let me tell you, smooth it is NOT!

http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article.php?id=214
Wrong. It's not even Brewdog's strongest beer any more, It's since been surpassed by their own Sink the Bismark @ 41% which has also been surpassed by their own The End Of History @ 55%. Incidentally t' Koelschip have a 'beer' called Start The Future which is 60%. However I have it on good authority that it's a blend with cask strength whiskey, so not technically a beer.

I don't like TNP, I tried bottle number 37, and I was disappointed, I was expecting something like their Paradox Smokehead, something that has that lovely warming whiskey flavour whilst being extremely smooth to drink. It's not, it's just alcohol. However, I've heard from people who have tried the 3rd and 4th batches, and some that have had the 1st batch but almost a year later that the beer tastes good. Whether this has something to do with age of the beer, or they're simply trying to justify the money they paid for it I don't know. I prefer the vastly superior Sink the Bismarck to the TNP, incredibly hoppy but really malty as well, It's like really peaty whiskey without the kick. Incredibly drinkable, to the point of it being extremely dangerous. In this country it comes in a paper bag with 41 written on it and a stopper on a piece of tatty string around the neck. We sell it for £70 a bottle.

The best beer I've had recently is Mikkeller Black 16%.

Amazing. Massive hops, malt, hint of caramel, almost sherry quality to it. Gorgeous.

Fuck it. I've got 3 days off in a row starting now (how did that happen?) so I'm gonna have me some beers!

Awesome thread! I'm a huge beer snob myself. There are way too many posts I want to reply to in this thread. So first, Tactical Nuclear Pinguin! OMG. I didn't know anyone else in the states had this yet. My local beer store called up Brew Dog and bought a few bottles of that beer and Sink the Bismark!, which is even higher at 41% I think. They did a live webcast at the store with their brewmaster in Scotland and we got to sit there, sip these insanely strong beers, and ask him questions via Skype. It was sick. If you can get a bottle of Sink the Bismark! do it. I was shocked how good it tasted.

As for aging beer, the higher the ABV the better. I love Schneider Aventinus. They have an anniversary bottle that's out right now that's like 5 or 6 years aged. Most local shops should be able to get it. Awesome stuff. Dogfish Head Forte is a good one to age. Its around 13% so that'll work. Their 120 IPA is popular for aging too. My personal favorite though would have to be Rochefort 10 from St. Remy. Its awesome new, its even better after a few years.

As for Bells they are awesome. I love the Oberon. They have a little mini keg of it that I get sometimes for parties.

Why do they call it Vodka 360? Cause when you accidently the whole bottle, you vomit 360 degrees and walk away.

I'm kind of envious about you getting to try Sink the Bismark!.

However, since this is a thread about both beer and snobbery, I feel someone needs to start the argument over whether these freeze-distilled spirits are still technically beer. In the interest of snobbery, and as long as there are absolutely no follow-up questions, I'll stand on the side of "not beer."
