Apparently Super Mario Land will be available on the 3DS virtual console.

I preordered it on amazon in October using credit from Metroid Other M.
I have the SNES version, but that is in my basement with my older systems. I want this for the collectors aspect and for my 2.5yr old son. He loves mario, but is not allowed in my basement and near my collection yet, so the wireless Wii controller is perfect for him to learn to play.

Wowowowow, thats crazy. I can be embarrassed about something, but it is not the worst thing Ive done. ie, I am embarrassed by most of my old works, but they are not the worst Ive done. I am embarrassed because I can see the flaws more than others can.

As for Mario titles, I still like Mario 2 US the most. It is more like a story book than the others.
Sarcasm man, sarcasm.

Yeah, but to be fair Yoshi's Island could be considered a totally different franchise.

It's pretty obvious why they're not inluding Mario World, Mario 64 etc:

Simply put, those games are already on Virtual Console. Including them on the Mario 25 Anniversary disc would only hurt the VC sales.

Nah. I have SM64 on the VC and I wouldn't be pissed. I just accept that a new collection is going to come out at a later date that will have more games. Same with movies. I'm not pissed that I bought a dual pack of Spiderman 1 and 2 only to have a trilogy released later.

The only time I was pissed off with a collection, was with the Sonic Mega Collection on the gamecube, cause it didn't include Sonic CD. They said it was because of limited space. WTF, do they think we are stupid? 1,5 GB is of space for 3 times the games. Sonic CD was like 300mb. And the rest of the games on that collection were hardly 100mb.

Plus when they released it on the PS2 and Xbox they had an extra 3GB of space, but they didn't include Sonic CD. It was only 2 years later that we saw why. Sonic Gems Collection ladies and gentlemen!!! One great game, 10 Game Gear games, and 2 reeeeeeeeeeeeally shitty games.

Also the PS3 collection didn't include the locked on Sonic games (Sonic 2 and Knuckles and Sonic 3 and Knuckles) again because of limited space......oh FFS 25-50 GB of data and you didn't have enough room for 5 freaking MegaBytes? Yeah Sega sucks at collections.

I'm pretty sure they said that the reason SUGC didnt have the lock-on games was due to lack of time, they needed to hit a deadline.

1. Open folder 'Sega Genesis Roms'
2. ctrl + click 'Knuckles in Sonic 2, Knuckles in Sonic 3'
3. Right Click + Copy
4. Open folder 'games going into a glorified emulator disc'
5. Paste.

I don't buy that they didn't have enough time or space. I think they honestly just didn't bother or there was some licensing issue that made it not worth their time. I don't blame them for it since there have been a bajillion re-releases but let's not make excuses for them either.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I agree with Flake. MOST retro collections are basically ROMs and an emulator on a disc. So...
