What's a Good Price on Used Original PS3?

Post by Beak »

It's the original PS3, don't know what size HD. Comes with some racing game and COD:MW1. Wireless controller and a wired controller.

He wants $220. I plan on haggling. What's a good price to pay for this package? Seems like on eBay these PS3s go for $150-350.

Thanks for any advice!

I paid 200 for 60gb a year ago, which was a good deal. if its 40 or 80 gb haggle lower. This one time I wanted to get a ps3 20gb. So I bid in auction and kept trying to win it. But this person (i assume it was female) overbid $250-270 last year. lucky for me I stop bidding after 230 beacuase class was important for me to go then win this auction. When I got home I saw a good for ps3 60gb on ebay and easily won that one.

$220 for a 60GB is a good price. Haggle if you want, but know that those DO sell for $300 or more easily.

60GB - $250-350
20GB - $200-320

Those are my opinions, anyway!

Why do you want an older model - is the backwards compatibility important to you?

Well, I was interested in it because:

1. I don't have a PS3
2. It's backwards compatible
3. I heard it's slightly more powerful than current models

Is there a reason I wouldn't want the original one?

Meaning i saw the bidder name link that shows what they may have purchased in the past like women clothing and make up. Of course u can't see bidder actual profile except for sub-category keywords such as female shoes, clothing etc.

Hmm. In what way?

Well.. the new ones come with a much bigger hard drive from the get go (instead of installing another one), draw less energy, reportedly load a little faster, plus you can get a warranty for it in case anything happens.

I only got ps3 60 gb because its rare, SHINY, cheaper at one time for me. You can wait for special model to come out or get the slim version. Slim conserve less energy then the original. I think the slim version will last longer. the original tends to heat up more in the summer time. slim might be less noisy and heavy. I remember getting ps2 with gt3 bundle edition.

Is the ps2 gran turismo 3 bundle edition rare? I still have the red box.
