i'm pretty sure that if it isn't a button combo for calibrating the stick, it's just a matter of it's position when the system powers on... try booting ur console w/ the stick held all the way up (or where ever) and see if any unintentional directional input registers when you get to the main menu or in-game

I`m just gonna exchange it one more time. If the next one is fuct im gonna give up and buy my first PS3 i guess :)

My new 360 slim controller moves to the right very slightly sometimes.

Only when they're haunted.

Neither the controller I bought in the summer nor the one that came with my slim a few months ago have issues.

Its odd that a new controller would have this problem.

Aside from the calibration issue that was mentioned earlier, the only times I've ever had this problem across all of my consoles are when the sticks get worn out and loosen up.

I had two of my wired gamecube controllers where the sticks became so loose they would move by themselves if you tilted the controller. Even if you got them to calibrate properly (very hard to do) they'd still cause problems in gameplay because they'd move on their own.
