Look at what a chick drives in college.

Hey now, they don't all have cars to drive whether that's because it's a big city college or other reasons. Neither of my college girlfriends had cars and both were awesome. It was school stress and after school distance that broke up both, not any sort of crazy issues on anyone's part. :P

Okay. In that case check out her shoes (in this case Vans are a plus).

See? I have an answer to almost everything!

Vans weren't a plus in the previous example?

In the first case it was Chucks, way back before the trendy/hipster resurgence of interest in them. I couldn't tell you for sure on the second, but she wasn't a shoe snob.

Who knows how my life might be different if I hadn't managed to look past my wife's pumas?

Chicks who wear Puma's are good in my book.

I'm snobby about beer, as any of you who frequent IRC know very well. I'm a beer enthusiast, I like real ale/craft beer. A lot. It boggles my mind how people drink the commercial mass produced swill they sell everywhere. It's bland, tasteless and worst of all is overpriced for what it is. I'm flabbergasted when people tell me it's 'good' or 'tasty'. It just isn't. Having real ale/craft beer then having to drink lager is like having the finest smoked salmon then being charged the same price for tuna. It just makes no sense to me at all.

I hate people who are snobby about music. I listen to everything, and I mean everything, from Lady Gaga to Gorgoroth, Depeche Mode to John Coltrane, Mindless Self Indulgence to Take That. Seriously, the only thing I don't like is dull soulless music. I cannot stand people who for some reason think that their favourite genre is somehow superior to anything else. It's particularly prevalent with the metal crows, that 'metaller than thou' attitude pisses me off immensely. Nobody gives a fuck if you were into Satyricon before they 'sold out'. I particularly don't give a shit if you think I'm somehow a worse person because I can listen to and enjoy pop music, as if that makes my opinion on 'metal' irrelevant. As if it suddenly means I can't listen to a band like Dimmu Borgir and appreciate it. WTF.

I am guilty of being a bit snobby against 'gamers' though. The people who maybe had a PS2 and then got a 360, but pretty much only play FIFA, COD garbage and call themselves 'gamers'. You weren't there at the beginning man, you don't know what it was like. Get off my lawn. You don't know you're born etc etc.

I completely agree with you, except for one thing; Tuna is more expensive than salmon, on average. In fact, even canned tuna is more expensive than live lobster by weight.

Although I'm a bit of a beer snob, I'm not a big fan of wine snobs. I've got a friend who considers himself an aficionado of wine. Every time he comes to visit he buys a bottle of expensive wine, just because it is expensive. A year or two ago, I totally called him out on not knowing shite about wine. Right before dinner, I said "Did you know you paid over $50 for a bottle of wine that still contains sulfites?". He got all pissed and responded "Well, let's take that shit back. I'm not drinking any wine that contains that stuff".

Then I explained to him all wines contains sulfites. Guess you had to be there.

I'm probably most snobbish about movies and cinema in general. The reason is that it's probably the medium I understand best and bad stuff being more noticiable than bad games or bad books.

Just think about it, books aren't advertised on TV, they don't get as much coverage and authors are not "superstars" as actors are. The number of well-known bad books is much lower than well-known bad movies.

I also normally comment and riff movies with my friends, be they good or bad we will comment on them and that doesn't suit well with most people.

Also no other medium shoves me a biggest amount of fart jokes and then calls it comedy.
