castlevania symphony of the night questions.
Re: castlevania symphony of the night questions.
Lol. Well I must have said it a dozen times on this forum, but I can easily play the Saturn SotN because I know a lot of the items by their sprite. That's not to say I would completely enjoy it if some one translated it for us.

A friend of mine gave me the SS version but I bought the JP PS 1st edition. Sure Maria is nice but I thought she was better in Rondo of the Blood.

(FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

I got SotN for Christmas on the SS, and I must say it is highly confusing if you've never played through SotN in English before. I usually use these two guides to make it bearable:
This guide is for items and things: http://www.castlevaniacrypt.com/games/sotn/relics.htm
This guide tells you where you should go with no BS: http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/psx/cast ... ough.shtml

I couldn't tell you how many time I have cleared this title by now
Re: castlevania symphony of the night questions.
Meh, I've probably only played through it from start to finish about 10 times. Maybe more, maybe less, I'm not sure. But probably the most time I've spent playing was trying to complete a file. Using the jewel sword to save up for the duplicator, trying to get every enemy to drop their rare items, etc. Of course, I had a file near completion that got erased (damn 3rd party memory cards!). I had another file that I was trying to complete, didn't get as far as the first time, but still put a lot of time into it.

Ouch, third party memory cards got me on my rpg saves one time. Since then, I never trusted them.

Yeah, it's not worth it. I refuse to use them these days. Only exception is this one 3rd party N64 memory card I had way before I made the pact. Never had a problem with it.

Yes those were fine if I remember right. It was the ps1 card that gave me a very bad day. I had all kinds of important saves on one and it wiped itself free

Re: castlevania symphony of the night questions.
I believe I've beaten the PSOne version like 3 or 4 times (with good ending all of them), the PSP port twice and the XBLA port also twice. I'm only lacking the SS port to have the complete SotN experience. And to answer OP's question, get this game on any format, it's one of the best action platformers ever.

You really must play it!
