Gran Turismo 5.....was it worth the wait?
Re: Gran Turismo 5.....was it worth the wait?
Both of those Subaru shots look awesome, but I could've sworn that second shot was a real car. Great shots.

Yeah, in the Photo Travel mode it's insane how real some of the shots turn out.Veno wrote:Both of those Subaru shots look awesome, but I could've sworn that second shot was a real car. Great shots.
Incidentally, I just got the Corvette ZR1 and installed the racing mod, it looks sexy as hell, probably my favourite car in the game so far in terms of handling;

Got 5 racing modified cars now, just 12 more and my collection will be complete.

and here I thought you had something nice to say about a Sony game.

That's just one car. Certain cars aren't licensed for damage. The Veyron only has cosmetic damage. That's not the developers fault. Let's face it, how often do you drive the wrong way round an oval circuit in the actual game? The problem I linked to with GT5 affects all cars and is the developers fault. That just should not be possible. At all. Yet it can occur, in normal racing.EvilRyu2099 wrote:Forza 3 = realistic damage.
Besides Dirt 2 beats them both hands down as far as damage model is concerned.

lol, and that's why I think they've should've scrapped the other kinds of racing. If you can't get the physics right on asphalt why add dirt, gravel etc, into the mix.
Now can we just agree that GT5 is a great game for driving, but not racing, and Forza is a little better for racing, but not tuning.

Not true at all.. Forza is more of an arcade game... GT is more realistic.. Are you even a racer? Do you have idea what it's like to control a car on the tarmac? I think you saying that 170 Mph in this game felt like 40 mph speaks to how much you actually know about racing or racing games for that matter..t0yrobo wrote:lol, and that's why I think they've should've scrapped the other kinds of racing. Are you kidding me? This proves that the damage in Forza is a joke, and a majority of the cars damage like this.. Stop backtracking this...Niode wrote: That's just one car. Certain cars aren't licensed for damage. The Veyron only has cosmetic damage. That's not the developers fault.
Ok for one that happens 1/100 times so it's not likely at all as far as GT5 is concerned.. Do you play the game regularly or even own it? If you don't then you have no clue what you're talking about.. Secondly you are defending the absurdity of the crash in Forza 3, but the fact of the matter is he took a maybe unlikely but an extreme example of a full speed head on collision and showed how fake the damage really was.. Stop trying to defend the obvious there.. The Bugatti Veyron in GT5 has better damage effects than the one in Forza 3 and it's a standard car!!!Niode wrote: Let's face it, how often do you drive the wrong way round an oval circuit in the actual game? Ugh, would you actually present some sort of argument, just being contrary doesn't count. I'm sure GT is more accurate to real life in a number of ways, but collusion physics isn't one of them. That's why I said that it's a better game for driving, because when there's other cars on the track it's quite likely that you're going to get ran into one way or another.EvilRyu2099 wrote:Not true at all.. Oops I didn't see your edit. You aren't just not presenting a good argument that can add to discussion, you're insulting me, nice. I don't race cars, but I've been in plenty of vehicles going 100+mph, the sensation of speed in reality and in GT is very different imo. It probably has to do with the environments and camera.
