What are you the most snobbish about?

Food.

Why?

I've been cooking dinner at least 5 nights a week since I was 12, and I'm not talking about mac + cheese. My parents decided right around the time I entered high school that I needed something to keep me out of trouble (I still got into trouble). Founded and owned a catering company when I was 19, and was very close to opening a restaurant with YUM! Brands a few years ago. Everyone is a foodie since we all eat, I'm a chef. You ask me to name the mother sauces, no problem. I'd really rather not talk food with someone who doesn't know what mirepoix is. I'm a food elitist, but I'm always open to try new things as long as the chef doesn't mind criticism. I eat healthy, and well. If you can't remember what you ate two days ago, you aren't enjoying your food (and possibly smoke too much pot). My wife and I eat like royalty, but spend little on our groceries. Here's what's on the menu for this week:

Monday: Hoison beef with Shanghai Noodles, side of snow peas
Tuesday: Jade Beef Curry
Wednesday: Macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi, side of coconut rice and caramelized mango
Thursday: Lasagna Florentine
Friday: Fontina, roasted mozerella, and roasted garlic pizza

And while we're on the subject of pizza, my favorite no fail pizza crust:

2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 packet Rapid Rise Yeast
1 cup warm water
3 TBSP olive oil

salt and herbs to taste

In a mixer using a dough hook combine 1.5 cups bread flour, 1 packet rapid rise yeast, salt and herbs. While stirring at low, add water, oil, then an additional cup of flour. Knead, add a dusting of flour if needed, place in a greased (PAM) bowl. Cover, wait 30 minutes and let rise. Add toppings and cook at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

I know what I like, I know what I don't like. I want them to look as beautiful in the morning as they did when they went to sleep. I like them intelligent and practical. Classy over skanky, but not afraid to be sexy. Well dressed, but not overly self conscious. Confident, yet vulnerable. Doesn't have to enjoy my interests, but at least share a few. And a great mouth is important too.

Exactly! Anyone can name a whole bunch of bands they like that no one else knows much about (for the record, i already listen to half of those bands lol) I could give you suggestions to expand upon if you really wanted (not to force you to like them, but to make life more enjoyable.)

Interesting. Was YUM brands thinking about diversifying their holdings beyond fast food a couple years ago? I'd like to know the story as well...

Heh. To be clear, BBQ is a method of cooking that involves low indirect heat and smoke over long periods of time. That is the definition of BBQ. Whether you use sauce or not, or what kind of sauce, what style of BBQ is best that's all up for debate. The above definition is not.
