I love this site.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I love this site.

Post by Cronson »

A little while ago I got on Game Room on Xbox 360 and downloaded the newest pack of old games. After I looked through the catalog it made me want to search the internets for a list of titles that are coming out. So I searched "xbox game room upcoming releases" on google, clicked on the second link (its the one forums.xbox.com) and started reading. I was hoping for obsessive forum members talking about the possible titles for the service, who would do my research for me. Obviously, I don't read other forums.

After 9 or 10 posts that thread turns into a fight. The posts continue for a few days and then someone locks it. It's the 2nd link on google about Game Room release dates and its a locked thread with people fighting about whether the service will be good or not.

So it made me realize; I love our forums. I love the contributions from everyone. Our threads are educational. We don't encourage flaming and trolling. I think we have an awesome community.

I was just thinking about how Racketboy is pretty civil and idiot-free most of the time. It's a good thing to have.

This is a rare and special place. Before I joined and I was just browsing, I remember there being some troublemakers, but for the most part I've only had positive experiences posting on these forums.

The mods and veteran posters are most helpful. There are a lot of people with specialties for almost every area of retro gaming. It also helps that retro gaming is geared more towards people over the age of 20, so the members here are less likely to start a flamewar.

Something happen tonight that reminded me how awesome this community is. I was playing Goldeneye online and happened across cheaters. I was so enraged I Googled it and found some threads on the GameFAQ forums. I decided to post, which turned out to be a bad idea...

Take a look at that last post. It took some real strength not to reply. Damn kids having to cheat online. That combined with reading a few other threads made me very angry. Now I remember why I rarely play games online!

So yeah, this place is all sorts of awesome.
