SNES tab cutting 101?

Post by AmishSamurai »

Need some advice on this. What should I use to do the cutting? How thick are the tabs? What type screwdriver do I need to open the damn thing?

The tabs do not require you to open the system up. Take a razor blade and a seomthing to wack it with!

Place your fingers int he cart slot. Notice the two plastic raised pieces on the left and the right of the cart receiver.

Place the razor blace on the notch and wack it hard!

After Wacking please remove debris and move on to the next one.

Removing these taps would allow for the japanese games to play without a hitch!

Good luck..>!

I'm afraid of putting a blade anywhere near the contact part of the SNES though.

Also, my roomie has been making circumcision jokes regarding tab-cutting to start with. You using the term whacking doesn't help.

You will be no where near any circuits.....the pliers method may work just as well, but I wanted to throw in the Whacking gig there for the blade swiping leaves a cleaner crisp look once all debris is removed...Im Anal like that....

Stick some needle nose pliers in there and just tear it out.

Plucked them out. They're sitting next to my computer now.

If I put them under my pillow at night, will the Tab Fairy give me a SFC game to test them on?
