I recently found out that my Game Shark for my Saturn and the Game Genie for Genesis can be used to play import games. Learning stuff every day!
Now my question is, will my Action Replay MAX for my PS2 allow me to play imports too?
It's funny, a whole new area of gaming has been available to me for some time now and I never knew it! I've never been interested in modifying my consoles so these devices are a great way to get to imports without modifying anything.

I don't think it will. I'm pretty sure the only way to play imports is to mod the old "hulk" version of the PS2. Maybe I'm wrong, but i don't think you can mod the slim.
You can also use a Japanese Super Famicom and get a US adapter (i know there is a hudson brand one), but some games wont load. Also you can download the Utopia boot disk or use a CDX for Dreamcast to play imports.

You can get swap magic for fat PS2's and used with top-loader case mod that will let you play imports, theres also a keyfob that will let you slide the dvd tray out and let you swap without modding the console though.
You can also get swapmagic for slim ps2's but it's a different model and comes with a few inserts that you slot into key places in the lid so that the ps2 always thinks that the lid is closed.
Other than chipping the consoles these are your only options. Plus the ps2's are a nightmare to chip apparantly unless you're really skilled with a soldering iron.
