I'm gonna jump on the "I just beat Genetos" bandwagon. Fun game with some nifty changes. It's nice seeing the genre evolve over the course of one game.

I still suck at shmups though. I've managed to unlock one other weapon, and I'm not even sure I really unlocked it.

Twilight Princess has taken me a long time to beat, mostly for similar reasons to Okami. I loved the game, but the 35 hours or so I was playing for was just too much for me, I kept moving on to something else. Still, having finally polished it off, I have to say its a fantastic game. Still no Ocarina beater in my eyes, but still great. Perhaps with a little less filler I would've rated it higher.

Pop Island is a great little capture the flag game with firework throwing surfing penguins. That's all that needs said really. If penguins arent your thing, how about hovercraft sharks, lion-gokart hybrids or skateboarding elephants. Its pretty crazy with up to 25 or so characters on screen, and it has support for like 8 player multiplayer with only one download too. Pretty awesome for only 500 points.

Next up: De Blob, Mighty Flip Champs, Zelda: Spirit Tracks and AiRace: Tunnel.

1. Phantasy Star (GBA)
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall Of The Foot Clan (GB)
3. Super Mario Bros. 2 (GBA)
4. OutRun (GBA)
5. Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival (GBA)
6. Mortal Kombat II (GB)
7. Viper Phase I (arcade)
8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time (SNES)
9. Godzilla: Domination (GBA)
10. Iridion II (GBA)
11. Scooby-Doo! Classic Creep Capers (GBC)
12. Trax (GB)
13. Super Mario World (GBA)
14. Super Puzzle Fighter II (GBA)
15. Alien Hominid (GBA)
16. 1942 (GBC)

believe it or not, I had never played 1942 for NES. Or any of the 19xx series actually for that matter. Anyway, it really wasn't a super-hard game. Really didn't get challenging until the last 7 levels really. And the lack of a final boss was disappointing. There were those few bosses spread out here and there, nothing too tough. But why no end boss? Oh well. At any rate, it was a lot of fun. It looks like shit on a GBC, but fantastic on a Game Boy Player to LCD. I really wish Capcom had put out more of the 19xx series on GBC though. :?

First 50 Games here!
  • Braid (PSN)
    Sonic Chaos (Game Gear)

*New* Sonic Triple Trouble (Game Gear)
The Sequel to Sonic Chaos. Level design was significantly improved and challenge was increased to a nice level. Final boss was lacking though.

    *New* Mega Man 5 (NES)
Beating two Sonic games really made me want to play Mega Man. And since I've had most of them still sitting in my backlog, I could have choosen any, but this was the mega man I played most as a child. Only really due to the fact that my local rental store has more copies of this then the others. I really can't believe I could never beat a level of this when I was young, the first half of this game is so easy! Second half was a nice increase in challenge, but this game really throws lives at you like candy.

    *New* Mega Man 3 (NES)
I was itching for some more after Mega Man 5, so I figured after doing one of my favourites in the series, I should tackle my least favourite. If only to compare. I find the level design in this mega man to be terrible. Level graphics / themes feel unispired and flat, as do the robot masters themselves. And the 'remixed' levels just pad out the game with no reall purose.

    *New* Uno (PSN)
Not really much to say about this. Its Uno. The AI can feel like they are cheating sometimes, but its really the multiplayer thats the draw of this game. In any case, its on sale for a buck right now, so thats why I picked it up.

Uno rules though! I have the GBC version and LOVE it.

Don't get me wrong, I love Uno too. It'll be a great game to just veg and play when I don't feel like doing anything else.

I would rather play it with IRL friends though.

when you say you "beat" Uno does that mean you won a game? I've never played a digital version.

I guess what I'm asking is: should I add Windows solitaire to my list?

Wario Land new! Virtual Boy

Wario Land is always a blast. I've probably played this game at least once a year for the past 10+ years, and it never gets old. It's not a difficult game, but finding all the treasures adds some challenge to it. That's the route I went yesterday, and I ended up finding all the treasures and completing it.

I guess I could say I also beat the Duel, Test drive II, but won't add it to my list. My end score was either in the 200Ks or 2millions. I didn't write it down, but it's saved in the game. I raced all three tracks and didn't die a single time.

If you played this on original hardware, we have a new candidate for most physically demanding game beaten this year.

I can't say for other versions, but this one has a single player tournament mode with varying degrees of difficulty. You have to clear 15 matches with various game changing rules in place to beat the games single player.

So no, I wouldn't add Windows solitaire. Unless it has a clear definable end.
