Finally - a Neo Geo MVS now with pics

Post by chupon »

I've been waiting to be able to say that for a long time. This initial post is going to be somewhat anti-climactic as I don't have pics to share yet but the description is as follows:

-6 slot SNK Neo Geo MVS cabinet (working an in good condition - could use some TLC - has some nicks but no serious scratches. And man is the 6 slot cab huge! Almost 300lbs!)
-An extra 6 slot PCB board (working) with metal cover
-19 MVS carts - some CIB with matching serials etc. (No boots - at least in the clear cases I can see through that have SNK boards.)

Games:
Sengoku
3 Count Bout
Soccer Brawl (JP)
Top Players Golf
Power Spikes 2
Baseball Stars 2
Art of Fighting
Art of Fighting 2
Fatal Fury 2
World Heroes
Football Frenzy
Puzzle Bobble
Samurai Shodown
Samurai Shodown 3
Ghost Pilots
Metal Slug 2
Nam-1975
Magician Lord
Crossed Swords

I've of course got grand schemes of replacing the 25" monitor with a large LCD screen, refinishing and cleaning it up right, but it's really not too bad as is. I'm probably most excited about Ghost Pilots, and Samurai Shodown 3, but there's a few other really fun games there. I'm gonna really have to start saving for Last Blade 2 and Mark of the Wolves. I'll try and get pics tomorrow.

Here's my problem though - it's too big to fit into my basement, and both the family room and living room are off limits. I literally can't fit it through the old halls and down the basement steps. I have an old house. So right now it's in the garage. I guess it'll be easier to work on in the garage then anywhere else.

Congrats dude! Hugely envious. Great selection of games too.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Yeah I make the decision to let some great things go - Earthbound, Valkyrie Profile to name a few but I think it was worth it. Although I think I'm gonna have to buy another Earthbound copy, I'll make sure this next one is CIB complete with scratch and sniff stickers as opposed to cart only. Thanks to all who bought stuff from me to help make this happen! (I've still got a few items I need to ship)

My theory is that I think an arcade cab is more inviting for the non gamer. That's really what I'm looking for now. People who don't play tons of games are scared of things like controllers - it's weird.

Can't wait to get a few games in today. Thanks for the kind words.

So smart going with the MVS option vs. a Home System.

You may already know this but if a game is causing you problems try another slot. The 6-slot can be a bit finnicky about which game combos are used and the slots they're in.

You are going to have a ball 8)

Oh man.. don't replace the CRT with an LCD.. games just don't look right on the LCD compared to a regular, good CRT. Look into doing a cap kit or something first.

Also do you have pics? I've only really seen a couple 6 slot machines, as 1, 2, and 4 were much more popular.

Also can I ask what you paid for the lot?
