Buying Chrono Trigger---pricing question.

Post by Opa Opa »

I'm thinking of finally taking the plunge and purchasing Chrono Trigger for the Snes. I'd like to have the game complete with box, inserts, etc. Right now it seems the price for a complete set is about $180+.

What do you think? Should I go ahead and spend about $180 and get everything or spend $50-60 getting a single cart? Or will it be more expensive to get everything separately in the future?

If it's absolutely vital to get everything, I say just spring for the complete set at that price. I've seen complete Chrono Triggers go for way more. I've not seen the inserts go up very often, but admittedly I haven't been looking.

The Price Charts currently have Chrono Trigger as new valued at $480.00. I'd pay the $180.

I would go for it at that price if you really want a complete copy of Chrono Trigger since it can get pretty expensive.

I wouldn't worry about if you'll pay more getting everything individually. Hunting down everything by it self would be much harder.

Do you just want to play it on original hardware or really have it as a collection showpiece? The difference in price is astounding. CIB copies cost about $150 more on average.

Both actually. I've always wanted a copy and now I'm ready to finally own it. I would like to have the box for display purposes but it is really expensive. The money not spent buying the box, manual, et cetera could go towards other games. Would a complete Japanese copy be less expensive than the American one?

Honestly, just get the DS version. I have the SNES version and it's good, but not good enough for 150 USD. I paid like 60 for my cart only a couple years back and regretted it. It's solid, not the be all end all.

Just did some internet surfing and it looks like a more affordable option for display purposes. Thanks man.
