I'm tempted. It has a nice selection of games. Has anyone ever tried it out?

A nice selection of games? Considering that it supports rom files via SD card, I'd agree with you.

I'm really interested in this too and would like to know more info about it. Like, how well does it run the games? Full speed or slow down like some Mega Drive clones have? How is the sound, etc?

I searched Youtube for a video review but couldn't find anything. I may just end up buying it and seeing for myself at some point.

I saw this in the box at Frys last week, took a minute to check it out. Its from the same company that did the Genmobile which I have and enjoy.

Pretty slick! If the price drops maybe worth the purchase. Only drawdown is the composite only output and a good point by Inazuma, if the emulation is full speed.

It's official: Sega is the new Namco. How many times are they going to re-release these games?

I wish other companies were doing this too. Clone systems that run roms off of SD cards is pretty damn cool.

Agreed. I'd like to see a clone system (w/SD Card Slot) for the Neo Geo or PC Engine/Turbografx-16. :D

It's pretty surprising that Sega would license a device that plays roms. I doubt we will ever see Nintendo officially approve of roms. Maybe some future unlicensed Chinese clone systems will decide to add rom support soon.

I'm speaking solely out of discussion with other gamers, so correct me if this isn't accurate.

When the patent for the original 8-bit NES expired, that's when we began to see the NES clones appear at places like Amazon Marketplace. A couple of them had an SD card slot that took ROMs as well. However, I do think those were snatched down in lieu of copyrights still owned on some of the titles.

Did the patent for the Sega Genesis expire? Maybe there was some other proviso with IP regarding publishing of Genesis games. I guess I just can't see Buy.com and a retail outlet like Fry's selling this without it.

I am considering purchasing one if I can find out more information about how it handles other titles. I'm still curious about any possible limitations or other funny stuff with games loaded from SD.
