I'm a little intrigued, not enough to actually even go into my DVR and set the record button for it. But hey, if I find it floating around I'll probably sit through a couple episodes.
dude, time travel. anything is possible.devilmyarse wrote:I love The Terminator and T2. They are amazing films. T2 is my favourite film of all time. No other film has ever been that convincingly real and threatening ever since. Terminator 3 was just a joke. I downloaded the pilot for the show about half a year ago and still haven't brought myself to watching it yet. I don't think I could do that to myself.
BTW Edward Furlong is only rumored to be in Terminator 4. So is Christian Bale, but he's rumored to be the next Bond, well, I know which role i'd pick.
also daniel craig ruled as bond and christian bale would totally fuck it up.

Its a decent action series. I still have trouble thinking that Rivers is a robot, but I guess thats the browncoat in me. Apart from Dr Who, mainstream scifi tv serials are pretty bad - even the new Dr Who is shaky sometimes. So when compared to them this is excellent. As a Terminator flick it is enjoyable, but only time will tell how good it is.
Anybody else notice that nowadays Terminators like to get hit by trucks?

I disagree that the show is ignoring T3. Now, personally, I thought T3 was an utter pile of shit regardless of it's semi-clever ending, but it was in T3 that we found out she died of cancer. The new Terminator told Sarah about the cancer, and we saw her seeing a doctor at the end. So to me it seems that the show isn't ignoring T3 so much as it's making it irrelevant - if Sarah gets the cancer treated and survives, how much of T3 would have actually happened? I love the idea of making that shit-ass movie non-canon.

I watched the show... and I enjoyed it enough that it will warrant my recording it when it shows every week. Some really cheesy lines, but other then that, yey!
Oh and let me just say... I hate James Cameron! So, eh; Terminator, though fun, is still pretty low on my list of great movies. It stood up OK, but in general it makes confetti about fictional movie concepts of time travel.

I enjoyed T3, but I am not representative of a hardcore fan of the first two, so I wasn't quite as harsh in my judgement of it. I will just say that I found all three movies to be a nice mix of humor, action and special effects and I never had any major complaints about the storytelling. I think people overrate T2 though, which made it near impossible for T3 to please everyone.Mozgus wrote:I don't get all this T3 hate. I think the story held up well enough, and it was entertaining from start to finish. It's about half as good as T2 and T1, but still, that doesn't make it bad. But if they make a 4th, I expect it to completely fall to shit. I don't know why. I just do.
Hating T3 seems like a bandwagon thing, kind of like how it's cool to hate Superman Returns now even though everybody seemed to love it when it first came out. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion

I personally dislike T3 because it was completely unnecessary in the first place. Not to mention that the 'newer version Terminator threatens John, so reprogrammed T-800 is sent to protect him' is T2 for God's sake. Not having Linda Hamilton or Eddie Furlong, and having to do some amazing make-up work on Arnold Schwarzenegger to make him vaguely resemble himself 20 years ago are strikes against it as well imo.
