Charging for FreeMcBoot is not cool. In the psx-scene.com forums, there's a list of *free* installers. I've done a number of free installations for racketboy members.
If you go to this page:
http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/
the scrolling banner at the top says "PLEASE DO NOT BUY FREEMCBOOT - Ask a volunteer installer to do it for Free!"

Re: Softmod rental and services: XBOX PS2 WII
the mod i do takes about an hour i have to manually edit text files and repeatedly load up the ps2 to test it. yes installing is free but that is on the 1st player side which in my opinion is fucking annoying, since the mod takes half the space of a 8mb card (leaves space for less than 15 games). i install on on the 2nd player side which allows for the freemcbooted card to sit there untouched most of the time. i also supply the user with a custom picture which loads up with the ps2, so there are no menus to bother with. here are some examples.gtmtnbiker wrote:Charging for FreeMcBoot is not cool. Not sure what you mean by 2nd player side. Do you mean that you're able to put your FreeMcBoot card in Mem Card slot 2 and have it boot up? I get that already with my card.vlame wrote:yes installing is free but that is on the 1st player side which in my opinion is fucking annoying, since the mod takes half the space of a 8mb card (leaves space for less than 15 games). i install on on the 2nd player side which allows for the freemcbooted card to sit there untouched most of the time.
There is a new FreeMcBoot version that will allow for a single multi-region install and still take up less space than the existing version. There's no PS2 installer for it yet though.
