Will my Game Shark for Saturn allow me to play imports?

I have a Game Shark CDX for my Dreamcast and it allows me to play imports without any mods to my NTSC/North American Dreamcast. I have recently purchased a Game Genie (which has not arrived just yet) which I'm told will allow me to play import Genesis games.

I have a Game Shark cartridge for my Saturn which I've used to cheat on a few Saturn games in the past. The instructions don't say anything about using it to boot imports, but then the instructions for the Dreamcast GS CDX doesn't mention anything about that either.

Will my Saturn Game Shark allow me to play imports without modifying my Saturn? I don't currently have access to any import Saturn games to try it out.

Play import titles:
Follow this procedure to defeat the internal territorial protection and play a Japanese or European game on a North American Saturn. Turn the Saturn on with an import disc in the drive. Select the "Start Game" option from the Game Shark main menu. Highlight the "Start Game Without Enhancements" option, hold X + Y + Z and press Start. The game will boot normally. Note: Some European games will have a small amount of the top and bottom of the screen cropped.

Note: This works with all imports except a few games that require extra RAM, such as Metal Slug and X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

Ha! So I could have been playing imports for all these years and didn't know it!

When I got my GS/CDX for my Dreamcast so I could play Shenmue II I noticed that nothing about it said it was good for loading imports (would have probably gotten them in trouble with Sega) so it got me thinking about the GS I've had for my Saturn for at least a decade.

Now I just need to find a good import Saturn game I'd like to see how it works.....
