Mars Matrix insanity

How far have you made it in this game? What do you spend your points on in the store?

I keep builiding up points to buy more continues and ships, but dear god this game gets hard fast. I play alot of shmups, but man this is possibly the most difficult one I've played. The sheer amount of on-screen bullets is insane, they make such neat patterns it makes you go cross-eyed then BLAMO! Well...at least you don't die by running into stuff. I can get to level 6, but can't get past the boss. If only I had enough points to speed up the absord meter!!! Guess I'll have to keep playing until then.

Start playing Touhou shmups, that's the way to get really good really fast. I used to find mars matrix and gigawing but after 2 weeks of playing nothing but touhou I now kickass at most conventional shmups.

I went through a pretty bad mars matrix phase (neglecting school, friends, food, etc). I think I went after the pictures in the shop first for some reason. You'll be able to beat it soon if you keep buying ships though. That game is so awesome, sometimes I don't think it gets enough respect.

dudex speaks the truth. Ive yet to find someone who is decent at touhou find any other vertical shump terribly difficult.

I am pretty good at most shmups, vertical and otherwise. I usually can get through a game on 2 or 3 sittings, but not this one. I guess thats why its more fun, because it's actually a challenge!

What system(s) are the Touhou games for? or are they a pc game?

Really wanna play that game. can't find it anyware (not even a rom), although my friend has been bugging me to get it for ages. Looks really good.
