Glad to hear that the ban will be lifted soon.

Hi! Guys, i need help
Do you guys know what will happen to the EMS packages sent from Japan during the ban? My japanese friend sent me a big package on Nov. 19 - 1 day after they started the ems ban- and it hasn't arrived, tracking number says it shipped on nov 20 from Japan, I called the english line of Japan post and they didnt help me much, they just told me to request my friend to make an inquiry and that it will take one month.
So is my package lost? it will be returned to sender? or it will just take longer? it is almost 2 weeks since the day it was shipped
does this .pdf in japanse says something about the packages sent during the ban? I dont know why they accepted to send this ems package when there was a ban.

I can tell you this, EMS packages have insurance. If it was lost, your friend in Japan can file a claim with them for the value claimed on the EMS mail form he filled out.CRGamer wrote:Hi! That's the risk run by trying to cheat the system.CRGamer wrote:thanks, the problem is more valuable than what he stated![]()

It looks like the ban has been lifted, admittedly surprisingly quickly, due to Jpost securing planes to be throughly searched for whatever they are trying to stop.
Here's an article in English.
I would assume I could start selling again if anybody wanted to buy something and have it sent by airmail. So crisis averted for any import Christmas shoppers.

I'd say your package is mostly likely held up in customs if it is marked as scanned/shipped from Japan.
The post office he sent the package from should have been more than aware of the ban and told him they couldn't ship or once it arrived at the airport sorting hub, J-post would return to sender or call him up to tell him he couldn't have it sent due to the new rule.
But if it shipped on the 20th via EMS, that is pretty long to wait. Filing a claim probably wouldn't be a bad idea after a few more days if its location scan doesn't change.
